My Background

ian-cylkowski-zfLVcDeDKes-unsplash.jpg

I was in high school when I decided that I wanted to be a psychologist but somehow I ended up going to law school instead. It was only after years of working as an attorney and later running my own consulting business that I made the decision to return to school to begin the training and education required to become a licensed psychotherapist.

I am amazed and honored by the trust people put in me when they share their difficulties and struggles, their hopes and dreams. I have a deep respect for people and believe that we are all doing the best we can with what we know. Our value as human beings is not based on what we produce or how much money we make, but rather it is inherent.

Like many therapists, my life was changed and my relationships improved dramatically as a result of the work I did in my own individual therapy. And my marriage of 37 years was improved and strengthened through couples counseling. I believe in the work I do because I know firsthand it can make a difference.

What motivates and excites me beyond most anything else is learning new things and living life to its fullest. I also believe strongly in giving back to my community and the importance of volunteering. In my free time I enjoy traveling, hiking, yoga, spending time with friends and family, and going out to dinner with my husband. Together we have two children and six grandchildren.

I am pleased to offer a free, 20-minute phone consultation to answer any questions you may have. Please call or e-mail me if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity.
